Bunnahabhain 12 years
Description
Lightly spiced from barley and freshwater, which comes direct from Islay. Aged in Bourbon and Sherry barrels giving this scotch of superior quality. Notes of fruit, malt, and coffee, subtle peat, with a hint of smoke. Long, lingering finish with notes of vanilla and smoke.
The Bunnahabhain distillery is located on the peaceful north-east coast of Islay, south of the Hebridean Islands. Built in 1881, its name comes from the Gaelic Bunnahabhain (Bu-na-ha-venn), meaning "mouth of the river", thus becoming a reference to the Margadale, the clear water river where this famous whisky is distilled.
