Description

Amber in colour, this Carcavelos wine has aromas of resin, vanilla and candied fruit. On the palate, it has a sweetness balanced by excellent acidity and a long, elegant finish.

Carcavelos has demarcated in 1908 is situated very close to the tejo river in the Cascais Municipality and part of the state of Oeiras. The fame of wines from Carcavelos lost in time. The Marquis of Pombal, who produced them at his farm in Oeiras liked them so much that D. Joseph I gave them to the court of Peking in 1752. The production of wine was for centuries the most important economic activity in Carcavelos. His secular name, quality and specificity were recognized by the Charter of Law in 1908.
