Description

Quinta do Côro has about 70 hectares, of which 20 hectares are planted with predominantly red varieties: Touriga Nacional; Trincadeira Preta; Cabernet Sauvignon; Syrah; Alicante Boushet and Petit Verdot. In 10% of the area there are white varieties: Encruzado; Verdelho and Arinto. It has been owned by the Vieira Graça family since 1966. The lands are clay-limestone, on gentle slopes with vines exposed to the South and protected to the north by pine forest, oak and cork oaks. The current winery, rebuilt in 2002, has a capacity of 200.000 liters, with modern equipment in stainless steel, which copy the old equipment, with tanks and steps. All red wines aged from 6 months to 1 year in American oak barrels.
