Description

The Quinta da Lagoalva de Cima extends along the south bank of the Tagus River, about 2 km from the town of Alpiarça and 11 km from Santarém. In 1834, the property was bought by Henrique Teixeira de Sampayo, 1st Count of Póvoa. A few years later, D. Maria Luísa Noronha de Sampaio married D. Domingos António Maria Pedro de Souza e Holstein, 2nd Duke of Palmela. Currently, the property is still managed by her descendants and has 45 hectares of vineyards planted with national and international varieties.
