Suntory Toki
Description
The Yamazaki distillery is located near the town of Shimamoto, in a place called Yamazaki valley, which served as the inspiration for the distillery's name. Known for producing a sweet, fruity, and spicy style. Yamazaki was originally founded by Shinjiro Torii in 1924 becoming the first commercial distillery in Japan. The location of this distillery was due to the great diversity of water sources and high relative humidity, an environment conducive to whisky making and maturation. Suntory now has the largest single malt market share in Japan and exports to over ten countries. The Yamazaki distillery has won numerous awards and in 2015 Jim Murray of Whisky Bible named Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask 2013 the best whisky of the year.
