2019 Vallado Vinha da Granja red
Description
One of the most prestigious Quintas in the Douro is Quinta do Vallado, an estate once owned by D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, the Ferreirinha, which is still in the hands of her descendants. Vallado wines have been unjustly forgotten and have now naturally recovered the time lost. They are wines of great importance in the history of the Douro and deserve to be in the top places.
Built in 1716, Quinta do Vallado is one of the oldest in the Douro. It is situated right next to Régua, on the banks of the River Corgo. The destiny of this emblematic Quinta is in the hands of João Alves Ribeiro and Francisco Ferreira, both descendants of Ferreirinha, and responsible for the company's management and oenology, respectively.
