The Chivas Brothers story begins in a grocery store in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1801. As the business grew, the Chivas Brothers quickly gained a reputation as suppliers of goods, provisions, and high-quality malt whiskies to their customers. In recognition of their reputation and the quality of their business, James Chivas and his partner Charles Stewart were awarded the first of several Royal Warranties by Queen Victoria, as suppliers of goods and provisions to the Royal Household.

James and John Chivas pioneered the art of selecting and blending various aged malt and grain whiskies in the Chivas House style - smooth, rich and with an excellent harmony of flavours. This tradition has been passed down from generation to generation and has been carefully preserved to this day.
