Churchill's Crusted Port (bottled in 2018)
Description
Churchill’s Crusted Port is made from vintage-quality wines from two consecutive vintages, aged in casks and bottled unfiltered, continuing to develop in the bottle before reaching the market. It has a dark cherry colour and a complex aroma, with notes of blackberry and subtle mineral undertones. On the palate, it reveals freshness and balance, with firm tannins and a lingering finish, highlighting its elegance and potential for further development.
In a sector occupied by players rooted for hundreds of years, Churchill's, with only 36 years of existence, has asserted itself and distinguished itself by producing exclusive premium category wines, with a very unique identity. It was this identity, an individual and unique style, that John Graham wanted to bring to the Port world when he founded the company in 1981. The purchase of Quinta da Gricha in 1999 propelled Churchill's into Douro wine production, making it a particular success case.
