Description

Wine of golden brown color, great aromatic complexity, accentuated taste volume, thanks to the sugar it contains and persistent aftertaste. The vineyards where the CZAR is produced are centuries old and are located in Lagidos área, Pico Island. Because it is an 100% natural wine, without the addition of any alcohol, sugar or yeast, its composition varies according to the degree of maturity reached by the grapes, the resistance of yeast to the uncertain weather conditions of each year, and may appear as dry, half dry or half sweet. In some years it simply does not appear because it does not reach the quality necessary to be called Czar. After the Russian Revolution in 1917, liqueur wine from Pico Island was found in the palace cellars of the last Czar's, Nicholas II. This wine was shipped in barrels on the island of Pico, by boats purposely sent by the Czars for their royal banquets. It even appeared in prescriptions as a cure for certain ailments and even Tolstoy mentions it in his writings. It was considered that the most appropriate name for this wine would be CZAR.
