Kopke 40 years Port
Description
The Kopke 40 Years Old Tawny is a Port wine of extraordinary complexity and elegance, resulting from prolonged ageing in oak casks. It displays a deep amber colour with delicate greenish reflections and an intense bouquet, where notes of dried fruits such as walnuts, raisins and figs are beautifully intertwined with hints of vanilla and honey. On the palate, it is rich, silky and concentrated, impressing with its freshness and balance. The finish is powerful, refined and remarkably persistent, reflecting the excellence of a truly great aged Tawny Port.
C.N. Kopke is the oldest Port Wine company. It was founded in 1638 by Cristiano Kopke and his son, Nicolau Kopke who had come to Portugal as Consul of the Hanseatic League. Adding up 4 centuries of success in the world of Port wines, the Kopke brand, acquired in 2006 by the Sogevinus group, is today a reference of prestige, maintaining the quality objectives that have guided it in the market over the years, is especially recognized in the Harvest Ports, with high notoriety in the sector.
