Motörhead is an English heavy metal band, formed in June 1975 by bassist, singer, and songwriter Ian Fraser Kilmister, known professionally as Lemmy, leader, and member of the band until 2015 upon his death. The band was considered one of the forerunners of the "new wave" of British Heavy Metal, reviving the heavy metal of the late 1970s and early 1980s.
