Description

White wine produced from the variety Chenin Blanc, from a single vineyard about 55 years old, located on the hillsides of Bottelary Hills. The slow fermentation, the ageing of 1 month on the lees, and 9 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels give this wine an exuberant, versatile, and harmonious profile. It has a yellow colour of medium intensity with golden reflections. On the nose, aromas of stone fruits such as peach and apricot stand out, with subtle vanilla notes. In the mouth it proves to be soft, balanced with a fresh and fruity finish.

Stellenrust was founded in 1928 and has since produced some of the most superb quality wines that the Stellenbosch region of South Africa can offer. An estate with some 400 hectares of vineyard, half of which is stretched over the Golden Triangle area of Stellenbosch, internationally recognised for some of the best red wine soils in South Africa, and the other half is situated high in the Bottelary Hills, famous for its cool climate and sea breezes, which give a harmonious profile to both white and red wines.

Stellenrust today prides itself on being one of South Africa's largest family-owned estates, carrying on the winemaking expertise to the proceeding generations who continue to adopt the legacy of the motto "Where Excellence meets Wine-Making", mentioned on every bottle of its wines.
