Description

Pacheca 40-Years-Old Tawny Port is a wine resulting from a blend of several Port wines that have aged in oak casks over many years in the cool warehouse of Quinta da Pacheca. During ageing the wine acquires its characteristic amber-aloir colour. It presents itself with an elegant nose, combining aromas of dried fruits and complex notes of chocolate, buttery caramel, and fine oak wood.

Quinta da Pacheca, one of the best-known properties in the Douro, stands out for being one of the first to bottle its own-brand wines.

The name of this estate has been referenced since the 17th April 1738, when in a dated document appears for the first time the reference to Quinta "da Pacheca", due to its owner D. Mariana Pacheco Pereira. But it was only in 1903 that D. José Freire de Serpa Pimentel decided to develop his growing interest in oenology, buying the property to dedicate himself to wine production.

Today, a century later, the new Serpa Pimentel generation takes over the management of the Quinta: Maria, Catarina, and José are the young faces of this distinctly family-oriented company.
