Royal Salute Kew Palace Edition 28 years
Description
Another addition to their annual The Flask Collection, this particular Royal Salute is inspired by Kew Palace, in London, and its magnificent kitchen garden. This superlative expression combines the knowledge of Master Blender Sandy Hyslop, with the olfactory expertise of Barnabé Fillion. Together, they have pushed the boundaries of modern blending, fusing Royal Salute’s traditional notes with the flora from this iconic garden.
As you might expect, the nose is remarkable. Intense fruit with rich notes of ripe pear are enhanced by a hint of autumnal leaves and the delicate scent of violet. The flavours are rich, round and perfectly balanced with sweet honey and scented flora. The finish is long, smooth and sweet with just a wisp of smoke.
The Royal Salute brand was launched on 2 June 1953 by Chivas Brothers in honour of Queen Elizabeth II on her Coronation Day. Named after the traditional 21 Gun Salute, Royal Salute whiskies are aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 21 years.
