Taylor's Kingsman Edition Very Old Tawny Port 50cl

Taylor's Very Old Tawny - Kingsman Edition is a very old and rare Tawny Port wine, aged for almost nine decades in old oak casks. To create this exclusive and limited edition, Taylor's decision to release some rare and very valuable wines from its extensive reserves of cask-aged Ports in its cellars. These reserves include a small treasure trove of priceless and historically very important wines, each representing a very small volume. Some rare gems from this collection, used only in exceptional circumstances, have been carefully selected by Taylor's tasters to produce the Kingsman Edition.

This wine is seductive and intense, displaying multiple dimensions of opulent aroma. It opens with a rich confection of molasses and caramel, with notes of almond and dried fig, followed by a complex spiciness of vanilla, black pepper, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Discreet aromas of cedar and balsam emerge fleetingly in the background. The first impression on the palate is of a smooth, velvety texture and volume and density. A crisp, vibrant acidity emerges on the mid-palate. Flowing through the palate from end to end is an undercurrent of rich, intense, and concentrated butterscotch flavour. The extraordinarily long finish leaves a lingering impression of a complex and smooth aroma.
