Valriz 10 years Port
Description
Tawny wines are red wines made from the same grapes as Ruby, but only aged for two to three years in oak barrels. These allow the wine to have greater contact with wood and air. Tawny wines breathe more, oxidising and ageing faster. Due to high oxidation, Tawny wines lose their initial colour of red wines, gaining lighter tones such as amber and flavours such as nuts or almonds. With age, Tawnies gain even more aromatic complexity, enriching their aromas.
Coimbra de Mattos, a family committed to winegrowing in the Douro region, is testimony to how commitment to origins and the family business always has a chance of enduring.
