Description

Wine produced in the Dão Region, from the Malvasia Fina and Encruzado grape varieties. It aged in French oak barrels for 3 months, thus presenting a yellowish colour with citrus nuances, the aroma of tropical fruit such as passion fruit and mango, as well as floral aromas, suggesting orange blossom. In the mouth it is voluminous and very fresh, balanced, intense, and persistent.

The Quinta Pedra da Cancela is the result of the Gouveia family's passion for wine. Winegrowing has been in the family for generations, but in its early days, the grapes were sold to the local Adega Cooperativa (Wine Cooperative).

In 1999, after finishing his studies in Viticulture and Oenology, João Paulo Gouveia, son of João Coelho Gouveia, decided to create his wine. The vineyards were restructured, others were acquired and a modern, high-tech winery was built, all this while respecting the culture of the Dão demarcated region.

In 2014 the company name changed to Pedra Cancela Vinhos do Dão, Lda.
