Description

The Gróf Buttler winery was founded in the Eger region in 1999. Its oenological philosophy is to produce delicious wine according to the characteristics of the land and with as little intervention as possible. The vineyards located in the Eger region, on the Szarkás hill and the Nagy-Eged hill, produce exceptional wines, which are made by traditional winemaking methods, preserving the values and quality of the grapes.

Blaufränkisch is a late-ripening red grape variety that produces red wines that are typically rich in tannin and can exhibit a pronounced spicy character. In Hungary, this grape variety has the denomination Kékfrankos and is cultivated in several wine regions, including Sopron, Villány, Szekszárd, and Eger, thus making Hungary, the country with the most hectares of vines of this variety.
