Ultreia de Valtuille is produced from the Mencía grape variety, whose grapes come from the old vineyard of a single plot, "Las Villegas". The sandy soils give this great wine silky, fresh red fruit and a touch of rusticity that nevertheless integrates perfectly with the acidity.
Raúl Pérez is one of Spain's most internationally recognised winemakers. He was born in 1973 in Valtuille de Abajo and comes from a family from the Bierzo region, which has always been dedicated to viticulture.
