Description

An elegant, delicate and charming wine from the Merlot and Cabernet Franc varieties, planted in the gravelly soils of La Grave. It presents balanced and linear, combined with ripe, red fruit and a silky texture, characteristics that make the wine accessible and enjoyable, even in its youth.

Château La Grave is a beautiful 19th century estate, situated on the western side of the Pomerol plateau, when it was owned by the Trigant de Boisset family. As its name suggests, the terroir of Château La Grave is almost pure gravel, marking the beginning of a mile-long gravel strip that continues into Saint-Émilion. Acquired by Christian Moueix in 1971, Château La Grave underwent a renovation of the vineyard, château and cellar in order to restore the wine's place among Pomerol's finest wines.
