Description

In 1961, aged just 21, George leased five acres of land from his father in Mangere, Auckland, and started his vineyard. The first vintage took place in 1962, from which he produced his first wine, naming it Villa Maria. With an enormous will to progress, George already married to his wife Gail met the conditions to move forward with the project.

So, in 1970, starting years earlier in the production of red and white wines, he began to hire people, who would help him grow the company, which currently emerges 250 employees and exports wine to more than 50 countries in the world.

Villa Maria Estates is thus the example of sustainability, innovation, and quality of Noza Zealand, recognised worldwide.
