This Reserva red wine is produced from the Tinta Amarela and Merlot grape varieties, and after ageing for 9 months in French oak barrels, it will spend about 12 months in stainless steel tanks and 12 months in the bottle. It has a deep ruby colour, with aromas of ripe plums, dried fruits and sweet spices. In the mouth it is dense and balanced with clean tannins for a persistent finish.
The Adega do Fundão is founded in 1949 by the hands of 30 winegrowers from the Beira Interior region and is located in Cova da Beira, a vine-growing area dating back to the 2nd century and the Roman settlements of that time.
The vineyards are planted along the Serra da Gardunha, which allows the production of grapes that give the wines a richness, freshness and exuberance without equal.
