2018 Quinta Nogueira Reserva red
Description
Quinta Nogueira Reserva red is a wine from the Óbidos designation of origin, and its production places special emphasis on environmental and health issues, with the grapes that produce it coming from vineyards certified under the Integrated Production rules. It's ruby in colour, with elegant aromas of forest fruits, combined with hints of wood from its time in the barrel. The palate is remarkably fresh, with fine, unctuous tannins and a long, persistent finish.
The Quinta do Porto Nogueira was founded in 1738, in the first half of the 18th century, and was always owned by the same family until the second half of the 20th century. The current owners acquired it at the beginning of the 21st century. The estate's 20 hectares of vines are planted on clay soils, marked by the influence of the natural microclimate of the foothills of the Serra de Todo-o-Mundo and its proximity to the Atlantic sea, some 20 kilometres away. A vineyard without irrigation that has unique characteristics, unrivalled freshness and a natural salinity. As a result, the wines are characterised by their singularity.
