Description

The Clarete Hugo Mendes Pitau Lisboa, made from the Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional grape varieties, was bottled without stabilisation and may have a tartaric deposit at the bottom of the bottle, especially after long exposures to the cold.

‘Pitau’ is the nickname of Hugo Mendes' family in Ribeira de Santarém. With this wine, the producer wants to honour not only the place where he grew up, but also the values that have been passed down to him throughout his life.

Born and raised in Ribeira de Santarém, Hugo Mendes studied Biotechnology Engineering but his passion for wine has spoken louder and since the 2006 vintage he has devoted himself entirely to oenology. Lover of communicating art to consumers, is a habitual presence on social networks. Since 2008 has been feeding a blog dedicated to uncomplicating oenology for oenophiles. Became a producer in his own name in the vintage of 2016, having for this purpose held the first crowdfunding in Portugal to finance a wine.
