Founded in 1825 and operating since 1827, the Glencadam distillery has had several owners over the years, but each has contributed to preserving the charming character of the Glencadam malt.
Water is essential in whisky production, and the Glencadam distillery has the privilege of using pure water from The Moorans springs, located some 14 kilometres away. This is perhaps the longest water abstraction distance for a distillery in Scotland. This precious resource flows through the hills of Unthank to the distillery, contributing to the uniqueness and quality of the whiskies produced.
