West Cork Single Malt Port Cask is part of a new five-bottle range of small-batch single malt whiskies from West Cork Distillers. This is patiently matured in first-use ex-Bourbon casks and finished in Quinta da Boeira Port casks. Thus, the whisky presents a sweetness with an aroma of dried fruit, notes of spices such as nutmeg and black pepper. Vanilla and toffee are also subtly present, making this the sweetest specimen of the new small-batch range.
West Cork Distillers was formed in 2003 by childhood friends John O'Connell, Ger McCarthy, and Denis McCarthy. It currently operates at Skibbereen in West Cork, owning 5 hectares and exports to over 70 countries.
