The Mortlach Tha Katana's Edge 2023 Special Release whisky is a limited edition from Diageo.
On the nose, this whisky reveals itself with aromas of freshly baked pastries, a hint of tree bark and a little liquorice, but predominantly with notes of darker fruits, for example, blackcurrants, plums and raspberries. Although slightly muted, aromas of chocolate, leather and toasted bread can also be felt. When you taste it, it has quite a thick texture. This is followed by aniseed, more plums, a touch of clove and charred wood. Some fragments of pencil are also noticeable. The finish is of medium length, with a touch of menthol, spices and chocolate.
