This is an exceptional vintage from Holdvölgy. With a deep golden colour and sweet aromas of sultana, fig, and dried apricot, this Tokaji is a true work of art that comes across as soft and creamy, with curious touches of mushroom on the nose and tropical fruit on the palate. Its acidity is, incredibly, lively and jovial, almost neglecting the sugar content and drawing the palate into a persistent and long finish.
The Holdvölgy Winery is located in Mád, in the heart of the Tokaj wine region in Hungary, a few kilometres from the geometric centre of Europe. Mád holds a special position in the world of viticulture due to its unique soil, macroclimate, and microclimate, and was documented in the 15th century as a meeting point for the wine trade.
Holdvölgy got an early start in viticulture, and today still maintains sections in its infrastructure dating back to the 16th century.
Always aiming to achieve success as Tokaj's iconic brand, Holdvölgy today owns 28 hectares of vineyards stretching across the Mád basin and is also one of the most extensive vineyards in the region.
