Nothing could stop Jorge Serôdio Borges and Sandra Tavares da Silva from making their wine one day, which would be the fruit of their professional experience and their relationship. This talented couple decided to set up the Wine & Soul company in 2001, at the same time as they acquired the 2.5 hectares of old vines, over 70 years old and with dozens of grape varieties, which would give rise to their first wine, called Pintas. Today, Pintas is one of the biggest stars in the Portuguese wine firmament and a true symphony of old vines.
The couple aims to create wines that express the full character of the Douro's old vines and indigenous grape varieties, seeking a balance between concentration, complexity, and elegance.
