The Chichibu distillery, owned by Venture Whiskey, was founded in 2004 in Chichibu, Saitama, on the outskirts of Tokyo, where it received its name. Specializing in single malt whisky, it was the first whisky distillery built in Japan since the 1970s.
Situated on a small hill in the city of Chichibu, the climate is perfect for the production of this spirit, using water from the Arakawa river, known for its pure waters.
