In 2010, the Baga Friends project was created to preserve, defend, disseminating and promoting Bairrada wines produced with the Baga grape variety.

It originated from the common concerns of Mário Sérgio Alves Nuno and Filipa Pato, with the start of the Baga grape variety vineyards and the fact that many producers in the region bet entirely on international varieties. Some producers from Bairrada and one from the Douro, passionate about the Baga grape variety, joined them, joining forces to achieve the project's objectives.
