2011 Château La Gaffelière Saint-Émilion red
概要
One of the oldest family vineyards in Saint-Émilion, La Gaffelière has been owned by the same family since the 1400s. And refusing to give in to fashion trends, the Malet Roquefort family claims a typically French winemaker's signature, inscribed between tradition and modernity. This respect for terroir is linked to its origins south of Saint-Émilion.
Overall, La Gaffelière 2011 presents itself as a remarkable wine, elegant, restrained, a little robust but with an impressive structure. The blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, displaying many earthy, balsamic, resinous notes combined with red and black currants, cedar and stone pine.
