2014 Castello D'Alba Vinhas Velhas Grande Reserva red 1.5L

Very elegant and fine, modern style that retains all the soul of the Douro indigenous grape varieties. An aroma that harmoniously combines the great concentration of Douro reds and all its complexity, wild berries, notes of rock rose, spices, very expressive violets, and very fresh notes of basil and bergamot. The aging in new and used French oak barrels for 8 months, allowed a wine of great aromatic elegance, where the aromas of the Douro are not masked by excessive barrel notes. Very smooth and ripe tannins, fresh and aromatic, very elegant, with an unusually long finish.

Rui Roboredo Madeira Douro wines are produced at the winery located in São João da Pesqueira, where it all began in 1999. The first wine launched was with the brand Castello D'Alba, which is still marketed today.

In one of the most remote areas of the Iberian Peninsula, in the border area between Douro Superior and Beira Alta, it was in the family that Rui Roboredo Madeira's passion for the aromas and smells of the land that mould his character was born. After years of experience and living in other parts of the world, Rui brings back to his origins what he has learned, starting his wine production project, always with maximum respect for nature.
