2014 Quinta dos Lagares VV44 red

This is Quinta dos Lagares premium reference, and is a red wine produced from grapes from the estate's Vinha Velha vineyard, planted in 1944. After a process of selection of grapes and traditional vinification in granite presses, it has a deep violet colour. The notes of black cherry and bergamot, involved in the elegant smoked barrel, stand out in tasting.

Held by the Lencart family since 1920, Quinta dos Lagares is located in Vale de Mendiz, on the left bank of the Pinhão River, in the Douro Demarcated Region. With an extension of 172 acres, this property is dedicated to the production of wine and olive oil, exploring about 66 acres for planting vines with the traditional Douro varieties.

Since 2007, the couple Pedro Lencart and Isabel Sarmento lead the destiny of this beautiful Quinta, which still maintains the granite mills, installed on the ground floor of the House, which dates back to the late 18th century.

The wines produced here are the mirror image of the commitment and dedication of a family that continues to respect the ancestral methods of wine production, using the typical grape varieties of the region.
