概要
The Boyds were an important Belfast merchant family, originally from Scotland, who throughout their history maintained a tradition of trade and international relations as well as emigration.
In the 17th century they were present in Bordeaux and it was Jacques Boyd who gave his name to the Cantenac vineyard when he acquired it in 1754. The estate was subsequently acquired in 1806 by John Lewis Brown of Château Brown, who was related to the Boyd family by marriage.
With the 1855 classification, the Cru de Boyd-Cantenac and its ability to produce, over more than a century, world-class wines was enshrined.
Since 1932, Château Boyd-Cantenac has been owned by the Guillemet family and currently, they extend over some 42 acres.
