2016 Tapada do Chaves Vinhas Velhas red
概要
Tapada do Chaves Vinhas Velhas red is made from Trincadeira and Grand Noir grapes from an old vineyard planted in Tapada in 1901 and harvested by hand. It has a concentrated ruby colour and a complex aroma, with balsamic notes, rock rose, earth and tobacco, intertwined with black fruit and plum, and surprising vegetal nuances. The acidity is firm and balanced, offering great structure and robust tannins. The finish is long and persistent, standing out for its high level of expression and character.
It is in the surroundings of Portalegre, in the lands of the Alto Alentejo, that the Tapada do Chaves wines are produced. For almost 100 years, this estate has given rise to wines of recognised quality which are among the best in Portugal.
Tapada do Chaves wines preserve the warmth and softness of the Alentejo region and are associated with a strong family tradition and a history of passion and dedication to the land. Originating from the vineyards of the estate that gives them their name, aged between 15 and 85 years old, these are wines to treasure and later savour to the full.
