2017 Cortes de Cima white
Located in Vidigueira Cortes de Cima is a family-owned property run daily by Hans (winemaker) and Carrie Jorgensen (marketing), with an area of 140 ha of vineyards, producing the Aragonez, Syrah, Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira, Petit Verdot varieties. , Antão Vaz and Verdelho. The oldest vines were planted in 1991 when the Syrah variety was not allowed by the region's regulations. Still, Hans convinced that he had the right climate and soil for this Rhone variety, created the first “illegal” Syrah wine, produced in 1998 and marketed under the name Incognito, which soon gained fame in Portugal and medals in London, Brussels and Bordeaux.
