2018 Château Cos D'Estournel Saint-Estèphe white
概要
Cos, as it was known, was born at the hands of Louis Gaspard d'Estournel, a man who had only one passion - the small Cos estate - which he considered so special, that in 1811 he decided to start bottling its production. Unfortunately, his passion turned out to be his downfall as, in order to expand and beautify the property, he ran up a great deal of debt and it was sold in 1985.
The Château passed from hand to hand to the Prats family (also producers of Chryseia with the Symington family). In 2000, Bruno Prats sold Cos d'Estournel to Michel Reybier, the present owner.
This wine is a blend of about 67% Sauvignon Blanc and 33% Sémillon, of which 7% of the production was aged in first use French oak barrels. Perfumed with nuances of lime blossom, apples and fresh grapefruit, it is an intensely citric wine with a satiny texture and medium body.
