2018 Château Pape Clément Clémentin Pessac-Léognan white
概要
Château Pape Clément is one of the oldest Grands Crus in the Bordeaux region. The first production dates back to 1252. The name of this property came about when Bertrand de Goth, the youngest of a noble family of the region and Archbishop of Bordeaux, became Pope in 1305 under the name of Clement V.
By reconciling the richest traditions with advanced techniques, Château Pape Clément wines are developed under the sign of the highest demands. Through hard work, in an exceptional terroir, the wines are simply exceptional! The estate is located in Pessac, a few kilometers from Bordeaux, and the 63-hectare vineyard comprises gravelly-sandy soils and clay-limestone soils in the iron-rich limestone subsoil.
With such a special terroir, this wine presents itself with bright and cheerful notes of fresh pineapple, orange blossoms and Bosc pears, with hints of beeswax and Yuzu. The medium-bodied palate shows tropical hints and vibrant citrus aromas, which finishes with a spicy, minerally center of mouth.
