After light crushing the grapes are subjected to a thermal shock, followed by passage through a traditional vertical press. The must is transferred to small capacity temperature-controlled vinification vats. The grape varieties are vinified separately. The wine ages on its lees for seven months. As a result of traditional pressing, the wine has an intense greenish colour. In it, we can find vibrant acidity combined with lively fruit. The mouth surprises by its density and freshness.

The Ferreirinha estates are probably the most emblematic of the Douro. Among these, Quinta do Vale Meão is of enormous symbology, as it was a project devised from scratch since the estate was acquired on virgin land.

On its merit, Quinta do Vale Meão is truly one of Portugal's most interesting and coveted wines. A deserved highlight for the quality this wine offers in all the vintages in which it is released. The Quinta also produces a second wine, Meandro do Vale Meão, made from the younger vines.
