A Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal, founded in 1922 under the name João Pires & Filhos, has come a long way, establishing itself as one of the most innovative wine producers in Portugal. The company's activity began by producing wines with grapes from the Palmela region. During the '80s, Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal started its expansion, acquiring properties throughout the national territory, creating new paradigms of quality wine production.
The Quinta da Garrida is located in Vila Nova de Tázem and has a total area of 112 hectares, of which 80 hectares are 15-year-old vines and the remaining area corresponds to new plantations made with the use of the most modern techniques. The soils are granite, light, and poor. They allow the production of wines with the appreciated characteristics of the region.
