It has a clear, open and limpid colour. It's discreet on the nose with notes of citrus and wet stone. The palate is also citric, but there are hints of pear and some mineral and savoury notes. A fresh, full wine with well-balanced acidity and a long, persistent finish.
Herdade do Portocarro, owned by the producer José Mota Capitão, is located between the districts of Setúbal and Évora, next to the Ribeira do Sado and surrounded by rice paddies and vineyards. Here, serious wines are produced that respect nature and long ageing.
