2019 Valle Pradinhos The Lost Corner Grande Reserva white

Valle Pradinhos The Lost Corner White 2019 comes from Macedo de Cavaleiros in Trás-os-Montes, made from Riesling, Verdelho and Códega, with fermentation in oak barrels followed by 20 months ageing on the full lees. Its fine, intense and deep aromatic profile reveals notes of apricot, yellow flowers, aromatic herbs, spices and mineral nuances. Creamy on the palate, with precise, beautifully balanced acidity and an exceptional texture, it finishes remarkably long.

Casal de Vale Pradinhos is a 450-hectare farm, established in 1913 and owned by the Pinto de Azevedo family since then. The wines produced here are a combination of indigenous grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela and Malvasia Fina, and reputed international varieties, namely Cabernet Sauvignon, Gewürztraminer and Riesling.

Maria Antónia Pinto de Azevedo Mascarenhas, great-granddaughter of the founder Manoel Pinto de Azevedo, is the current owner of Casal de Vale Pradinhos. She has been implementing her vision in the wines which are vinified here since she took control of the property in 1994. Her daughter, Maria, will be the 4th generation of women directly involved in the management of the property.
