The Corta Fogo white is the result of a collaboration between two renowned winemakers: Anselmo Mendes, a reference in Alvarinho from Monção and Melgaço, and Mário Sérgio Alves Nuno, a Bairrada icon. This wine combines the freshness of the Alvarinho variety, vinified in 400-litre barrels, with the elegance of the Bical variety, fermented in 500-litre barrels, each in its own cellar.

After ageing for nine months in wood, the wines were assembled in Anselmo Mendes' cellar in Melgaço for bottling in June 2021. With only 2,622 bottles produced, Corta Fogo is a white wine that reflects the ambition and genuineness of its creators. Created from the will of two friends who share common values, this wine is an ode to the memories and stories told by grandparents by the fireside, and did not emerge from an elaborate business plan, but from a passion for viticulture.
