Started in 1920 by Deonilde Freitas, continued by Germana Freitas and later by Ermelinda Freitas, it has always paid special attention to wine. Since the first generation, this house has been committed to the quality of the vineyards and the wines, which were initially produced and sold in bulk without its own brand.
It was with the current management, Leonor Freitas, that the great change occurred and, in 1997, a new cycle began for this centuries-old family business, with the first wine produced and bottled under the name Casa Ermelinda Freitas.
