Cartuxa rosé was produced from two plots of Touriga Nacional, planted in the vineyards of the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation. 10% of the blend was fermented in used barriques, intensifying its volume and unctuosity, and the rest of the blend was stored in stainless steel tanks. This wine associates its quality to the name of the Carthusian monks who, since 1598, have practised a solitary life of prayer in the Convent of Santa Maria Scala Coeli, in Évora.

The Cartuxa brand is the principal activity of the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation and the “umbrella” brand of the Cartuxa Winery. The logo identifies wines such as Vinea, EA, Foral de Évora, Cartuxa, Scala Coeli and the legendary Pêra-Manca. Excellence, quality and individuality in a style of its own, is what marks the difference and defines a classic Alentejo.
