The first historical references about Quinta da Pellada seem to be around 1570. The Dão wine region was established in 1908, framed by three mountain ranges - Buçaco, Caramulo and Serra da Estrela – and preserve from the Atlantic winds, the region as very special climatic conditions and this producer Alvaro Castro is one of the best Portuguese producers and unquestionable leader in Dão wine region.
