2022 Quinta dos Termos O Pecado red

O Pecado is a monovarietal red wine produced from the Sangiovese grape variety in the Beira Interior region, which reflects the authenticity and quality of Quinta dos Termos. After a prolonged ageing in tanning, it rested in new French oak barrels. It's a wine of intense red colour with bluish reflections, with aromas of red fruit, plum and fig, accompanied by a subtle touch of spice. On the palate, it combines excellent acidity balanced by firm, well-structured and soft tannins, providing an elegant and persistent finish.

Facing away from the Serra da Estrela, with a southern exposure on a moderately steep slope and sheltered to the north by the mountain that defines it, Quinta dos Termos has its own terroir that unmistakably influences the wines produced there.

With its unique microclimate and poor soils that naturally discipline the more productive varieties, traditional grape varieties of the Beira Interior are cultivated there, which, combined with the excellence of nature and rigorous analytical control, result in captivating and surprising nectars.
