概要

Barroca da Malhada Dolia red is produced from the Baga and Touriga Nacional grape varieties, with hand harvesting, spontaneous fermentation and low intervention in the cellar. The wine is aged entirely in amphora, undergoing skin maceration for one month, followed by a further seven months of ageing of the liquid only in the same vessel.

Deep ruby-violet in colour, it reveals great aromatic depth, with notes of ripe black fruit, balsamic nuances and a pronounced earthy character. On the palate, it is structured, full-bodied and expressive, with well-integrated tannins and excellent coherence between nose and palate, resulting in a very successful balance between youthful energy and elegance.

Barroca da Malhada is an artisanal wine producer from Beira Interior, rooted in a historic estate dating back to the Middle Ages, once owned by the Viscounts of Tinalhas. With around five hectares of vineyards farmed organically and following biodynamic practices, the estate works schist-sandy soils of granitic origin in one of Portugal’s most mountainous regions. The wines reflect a low-intervention approach, favouring authenticity, freshness and a true expression of place.
