2024 La Braccesca Achelo Syrah Corton red
概要
Achelo is a delicate wine with a rich flavour and an intense ruby-purple colour, produced exclusively with Syrah grapes to honour the historical and cultural importance of the territory of Cortona. The name of the wine was inspired by the Etruscan god Achelo, who appears on one of the most important Etruscan artefacts in the Museo dell'Accademia Etrusca in Cortona.
It has aromas of ripe red fruit and spices, including black pepper and liquorice, accompanied by pleasant floral notes of violets. It's easy to drink, with a soft palate characterised by silky tannins and excellent freshness. The finish is long and flavoursome with notes of plum jam and vanilla.
The Antinori family has been dedicated to wine production for over six hundredyears. Since then, in 1385, Giovanni di Piero Antinori became a member of the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri. Throughout its long history, spanning 26 generations, the family has always managed this activity directly, making innovative and sometimes brave choices, but always maintaining an unchanged respect for tradition and territory.
La Braccesca extends over 508 hectares, where the ancient Bracci estate ruled, hence the name of the estate and its coat of arms: an arm covered in armour holding a sword. Since 1990 the estate has belonged to the Marchesi Antinori.
